Who are You?? Who are we?? post-concert thoughts...

The awesome stage

Hey all!!
To those who have gone to the concert last night
HOW WAS IT!!
Was it awesome or INSANELY awesome!?
Its the second one for me though ^^

Honestly, yesterday was just an insane day for me (having to go to school just for attendance and partial-ing it to queue for the show ><) and I think for all the fans as well. The sun was scorching hot and waiting there for almost 6 hours is really a huge feat.

As we were waiting in the queue, I could hear the drums being tested and all i thought was 'tomoya..are doing the soundchecks now?' and indeed I was right!! Not long after the sound for the bass drum stopped, they played 'deeper deeper' with just the instruments. After that they played it again with the vocals and background music. But omg, when I heard it I was so stoked that I was practically tapping my hand and feet to the music.
The crowd from my point of view...

I was amazed that I managed to go quite front cuz I grabbed my friend to go to the sides before she ran into the middle crowd. I was probably around 3rd row and it was really amazing how I got there.

As soon as the introduction song where idiot should go came on the whole crowd roared like mad and I was super stoked!!! Then when they came out, only then did I realise how near I was..I was so near that I could literally see ryota's abs outlines. As soon as the verse for ending story?? started, I was seperated from my friend but you know what, I didnt care at all it was actually fun enjoying the concert with strangers (not strangers technically cuz we all share the same interest which is we love OOR)
Ryota was awesome the bass!! You can really see how the band was enjoying the atmosphere as much as we were enjoying them.

And then nothing helps came out and I totally screamed cuz that was my faverite song from the album. And at the place I was standing at, I could see tomoya so clearly and I think (Probably did..heck I'm just gonna say I did) I had eye contact with tomoya!!! Like omg he was so amazing on the drums that I really wished like I had the guts to shout that out in japanese....[If I were to wish something before I die, it is definitely to meet tomoya and tell him how amazing his drumming skills are and how insanely cool his tattoos are]

And then when they were about to play lets take it someday, taka asked for the usual which was for all the fans to squat down and then jump. I really love it when they play this song cuz it immediately gets everyone hyped up and the back people can actually get to see the band!! By this song I was totally soaked in sweat and though my arm hurt, i couldnt stop pumping my fist.

The other song that I really loved was answer is near. This, was after all the song that got me loving them so much today. Taka started us off in saying "ohh ohhh ohhhh~~" and he kept us going then kick started the song.

C.H.A.O.S.M.Y.T.H was awesome too!! I read somewhere on tumblr, from someone else's post that they saw ryota tearing up while they played the song but I didn't get to see it because when i saw ryota his hair covered his whole face...and I was focusing again at tomoya. His emotions was really shown on his face as he played the song.

I don't really remember after which song they did their introduction but they were really cute. Their introduction this time was quite short as compared to their last. I remember ryota ending his intro with "let's have a fucking good time" then tomoya ended his with that as well. But omg, tomoya was so cute! I rmbr at the last concert at scape his voice wasnt that high, but this time when he spoke he sounded like a 10 year old boy, and then he said along the lines of "lets have a fucking awesome time" in that voice of his..i just died inside really..
Then there was our leader, toru. His intro was the longest and I remember him saying along the lines of how he was looking forward to coming singapore again and here he is on that night.

As for taka he did not introduce himself but he did a small MC somewhere and I rmbr him saying how though his country and our country was across the globe, it was the music that brought us all together. Taka's english really improved alot and I think the member's english improved too..which is good!

Nearing the end of the concert, Taka then asked the crowd if he could just speak in japanese and of course the crowd said yes. From this part, what I remember was he said thank you for all the fans who came and that they would come back again in the near future for another show. When they come the next time, he wished that us, fans, would show them more 'warm' love then we did today.

[I am honestly frustrated at myself for not remembering so many things...I mean visually the members are in my mind but there are so many bit and pieces of the concert that I am missing in my mind...I swear I think I had a out of body experience or something, but things are slowly coming back to me]

Then, they ended with The beginning and I could hear the crowd singing with the band. After that all the members came up front thanking all the fans, tomoya bowed really deeply and for a long time at that as ryota, toru and taka waved at the fans pointing at us thanking us as well.

I think this is what separates one ok rock from a typical american rock band. They are truly appreciative of their fans and they really take their time to thank the crowd. I could also see that toru while he was playing the live, he was engaging the people at the back as well,to make sure no one felt left out at the show.

After they left the stage, everyone was screaming "en-co-re" and "mo-i-kai"( which meant one more time btw) and then after a few minutes they were back out again. First stepping up in front to thank all of us again, smiling and clapping at us while we clapped at them. They are really so courteous, standing on stage just like that to thank the fans (not only for the show here but for others as well).

After that, they then went on to play their last song, wherever you are. And I was amazed at the crowd's response to that song. I don't know if it was just me but I felt like the whole crowd was singing to that song. Even the japanese parts. But heck, I was singing too. Like the lyrics just rolled off my tongue as I swayed with the crowd among people I didnt know. After that last song, they came back in front receiving gifts from the people in front (and they took the banner everyone wrote for them as well!!) I guess someone passed taka a red g-string cuz I saw him rubbing that to his ass..oh taka haha..and then toru threw his pick to the crowd...
THEN TOMOYA THREW A FEW DRUMSTICKS!! I didnt get to even reach for it cuz like he threw it at different directions...I honestly wished I got it cuz really I think this would be the last time I could ever be so front...
My sorrowful attempt of capturing tomoya,
I was so immersed and was just staring at him that I forgot I could just snap a picture.
By then he walked away already... :(

Then after that they bowed deeply again to the crowd (they are so courteous I swear...) I could see rui hashimoto at the back next to the drumset taking a picture.
With that last bow, they waved to the crowd and left the show.

I really had a good time yesterday though as I said earlier, I was separated with my friend. Everyone around me was enthusiastic, maybe just a few that were just standing there..then there was this one dude with a dslr trying to take a pic..like dude..how'd u get it in man..and then there was this overprotective boyfriend who placed his arm on the person behind his girlfriend (unfortunately it was me for like what 5 minutes) that was really uncomfortable cuz I hate people touching me but then after I manage to shift away, I saw he was doing it to other people as well so..I mean its a good thought to like make space for your gf but really, did you really have to do that... =____=

I also kind of wished that the band played a few of their older songs cuz songs like liar, re:make and kanzen kankaku dreamer, they played it the last time they came to singapore as well at scape. But! I still enjoyed it..one ok rock really sounds better 'live' then on CD. (I hope those who went for the first time felt like this too!)

The management was also good in a way that they gave water to the audience once in a while and that somewhat got the crowd hydrated..
But then again, after the concert I heard that a number of people had fainted during the concert.
I hope they are fine now....
For those of you who went, I hope you are drinking lots of water today.
As for me, my legs are sore and my flu that was on the road to recovery just got a bit worst.

But hey, all of us had fun didn't we?
If they were to come back again next year would you go again?
If you went for the concert, tell me how was it for you ^^

Till the next post,

Cheers ^^

My friend took these two pictures..I was so jealous at how near she was to him
and how she took such a good photo of him...but then I am happy she took him ^^

ARE YOU READY SINGAPORE!!! 22ND NOVEMBER. THE HARD ROCK COLISEUM

Hey all!!
I know I have been inactive on both this blog and tumblr these days,
but i have been really busy lately (thanks to the almighty school)
so i have been putting a lot of translations on hold (or rather on halt).
However, I realized that most recent videos have been translated on tumblr already!
And super fast too!!
(Yay to new OOR Translators~~ *Salutes for the hard work done*)

BUT!

No matter how busy I am (or how sick I am from the bloody flu),
I felt the need to do something before the concert.
A little something that would hype not only me in the process but everyone looking forward to the concert as well.
So, I decided to make a short video to ask all you Singaporean OORockers out there.

ARE YOU READY?!

If you are thats awesome!!
If you are still going 'meh' then, I hope this video will get you pumped for it!!

On a side note apart from all this hype going around,
I sincerely hope all those of you who are going to genuienly enjoy yourself.

  • Drink lots of water especially if you are planning to queue early.
  • Have some snacks to bring with you cuz things could be a bit expensive at RWS
  • Bring something to entertain yourself (poker cards, monodeal, PSP)
  • (Especially for those of you who are gonna queue early..)
  • Dress in comfortable shoes/clothes cuz you will be rocking to the music.
  • (I strongly suggest a pair of sneakers, jeans and a shirt...but for girls, shorts may be fine too since its gonna be quite hot)
  • Look out for each other cuz it may be a rough crowd this time round cuz its free standing for all

And also an official word from Amuse entertainment is that patrons should not bring and lightsticks or anything cuz it may hinder the stage lightings that comes along with OOR's performance so yeah take note!

Okay, now that all those nagging is done my last final words would be.
Enjoy
And
Rock your socks off guys!!
See ya'll there :)
